8th Grade Agriculture -Exploratory Agriculture course that covers a wide
variety of topics such as; domesticated/companion animals (dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, etc.),
production animals (beef, dairy, swine, poultry), wildlife, Wisconsin and National agriculture, to honey bees and
syrup production. Topics will vary on student interests. Gr. 8.
AgriScience 1 - is an exploratory course in agriculture dealing with topics such as: the science of living
things, biotechnology, FFA and leadership activities, forestry, wildlife, natural resources pest
management, and aquaculture. Students will have labs and develop projects that will combine
agriculture, science, math, communication skills, and business
Agri-Science II - is an exploratory course in agriculture dealing with topics such as: large and small
animals, horses, gardening, plant reproduction, forages, pasture management, and food sciences.
Students will develop projects that will combine agriculture, science, math, communications skills, and
business. Gr. 9-12 Semester Prerequisite: none
Fish and Wildlife- is a course that will study game and non-game species of mammals, birds, and fish.
The course will study the ecology, habits, habitat, and life cycles of various species of wildlife and fish.

Large Animal Science- is the study of the livestock industry, animal nutrition and feeding, judging and
classification, and the meat industry. Gr. 10-12 Sem1 or 2 Prerequisite: Agri-Science I and II or Instructor Consent
Horse & Small Animal Science- deals with equine management and services along with pet (dogs,
cats, rabbits, etc.) care and management. Nutrition, grooming, pedigrees, and other factors are
studied. Some information will be included on veterinary careers. Gr. 9-12 Semester Prerequisite: none
Environmental Conservation - emphasizes the management and wise use of various natural resources
including fossil fuels and other energy sources, wildlife, soils, water resources, mineral and metal
resources. Gr. 10-12 Semester Prerequisite: none
Dairy Production - includes all phases of the dairy industry, including feeding, breeding, housing, health,
records, and dairy careers. This course offers transcripted credit through Northcentral Technical
College. (Refer to Special Programming Options on Page 33 for more information.) Gr. 11-12 Semester

Ornamental Horticulture - presents information about landscaping, establishing lawns, selecting and
pruning shrubs and trees, grounds maintenance, and related careers. Gr. 11-12 Semester Prerequisite: none
Forestry - includes tree growth, the multiple use concept, harvesting, marketing, forest crop laws,
careers, and conservation practices used in forest management. Gr. 11-12 Semester Prerequisite: none
Farm Management and Ag Marketing -studies starting and managing a farm, financing, pricing, taxes,
and government programs. It also deals with the marketing connected with many phases of agribusiness,
including production ag. The course includes studies of the effects of news, stock markets, value of the
